Hey, hey! My name is Anniessa and I’m stoked that you’re here! I’m an artist, dreamer, and education junkie with big ambition and an even bigger heart! I’m your average twenty-something corporate drop-out who started a business that changed everything… if we can call that average. I’m a wife and dog mom who loves long walks down the isles at Home Goods with a Venti Iced Coffee. I have a spooky streak that comes out during fall time- I’m Halloween obsessed and totally down to binge watch horror movies.

Why I started the Makeup As We Go Podcast
I’ve been a certified Makeup Artist since 2013 and have made my way through many branches of the industry. I worked in salons, backstage at runway shows, on set for big productions, celebrities, and countless weddings. I even got hired to work for a company where I created dozens of viral beauty videos that amassed millions of views across youtube, facebook, and instagram. And after becoming an esthetician, I learned even more and my journey continues to take me in multiple directions.
The blood, sweat, and tears of working in LA for so many years inspired me to seek a community of others who would understand this crazy world and walk through it with me. Sadly, the rumors about the beauty industry being one of the ugliest industries is true, and I wasn’t able to find MY PEOPLE.
Even though I have so much knowledge and experience to share, I definitely don’t have it all figured out. Tthe truth is…nobody knows exactly what they’re doing! We may have a leg up due to our hard work, connections, or God-given skills, but at the end of the day, we are just making it up as we go…
I wanted a show that would meet people where they are.
I wanted to start a show that CREATES that safe space for the community I was seeking. Where Makeup Artists, Hairstylists, Estheticians, Lash Artists, Permanent Makeup Artists, and everyone in between could find their people. I didn’t want another show where we only hear from experts that have been in the game longer than I’ve been alive (although they are badass and of course have value to share). I wanted people to share their journey no matter if they are only two steps ahead of me or 10 steps behind. NO gatekeeping. NO clout or drama-based fakeness.
I’m a firm believer in the idea that we can learn something from every single person we meet. We can learn together, share struggles and wins, and walk alongside one another as we navigate the beauty industry. I want to invite you to join me and finally find your support system here.
It’s the community I needed that didn’t exist.
Now here’s the deal…I’m not 100% sure what the heck I’m doing, but I’m stepping out with courage and faith. I’m not afraid to say, let’s Makeup As We Go! And cheers to wherever this takes us.
